There's a Pig Up My Nose
There's a Pig Up My Nose is John's first picture book, but it's taken a long time to get into print - he wrote the story 21 years before it finally saw publication!
It's illustrated by the brilliant Laura Hughes, and would be worth getting for the pictures alone, but - see below- people seem to like the story, too.
John wrote the story back when he was a teacher, working in Hillbrook Primary School in south-west London, and it was inspired by the class he was teaching. It's about a girl called Natalie who... well, who gets a pig stuck up her nose. How did the pig get there? Will she get it out? You'll have to read the book to find out!
The book's already had a lovely review from Imogen Russell-Williams in The Guardian, and on 5th February 2017 was chosen by Nicolette Jones in the Sunday Times as the Children's Book of the Week.
"Everything about There’s a Pig Up My Nose! (Egmont) is entrancing... a joy to read aloud" - Imogen Russell-WIlliams in The Guardian
"Delightfully funny... likely to prompt giggly hours of playing" - Nicolette Jones in the Sunday Times
